Golf at the Lost Farm

 6th Feb 2023

Tee off is at 8.20am this morning, hopefully before the big groups of men we saw at dinner last night. We had a quick breakfast in our room and only have a short walk to the car to get our clubs and another short walk to the pro shop.

It was not too busy on the course at this hour, so we teed off a little ahead of time after receiving instructions from the pro on how not to get lost and a few tips on a couple of the holes where the tee shots are blind.

The course looks pretty daunting if you are off the fare way, but this didn't phase Carole, who got off to a blistering start, with an eagle on the par 4, 3rd hole. I thought I was looking good with a birdie.

Fortunately for us, there is little wind this morning, although it did pick up on the last few holes. It would be a very tough golf course in a strong breeze.

We managed to both beat our handicaps and not lose any golf balls. I picked up on the back nine to eat into the considerable lead Carole had, to end up all square for the game game. Tomorrow, at Barnbougle might be a different outcome as it is a much tougher course.

The Dunes course also has a restaurant, so we chose to go there for dinner tonight. It was smaller and more laid back with a more pub type menu, but still very busy.
